Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a strong foundation in faith and a deep commitment to serving others through ministry. My journey began at First Baptist, where I was called to lead and support individuals and couples through coaching and counseling. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding both singles and married couples, helping them build healthier relationships grounded in faith, trust, and communication. In addition to one-on-one counseling, I’ve served as a conference leader for various leadership and relationship conferences and symposiums. These opportunities have allowed me to connect with a broader audience and share practical tools for personal and relational growth. My work has extended to premarital and marital counseling, helping couples prepare for and strengthen their lifelong commitments. For the past ten years, I’ve also hosted annual women’s retreats under the banner “Let’s Create,” which are designed to empower women to rediscover their purpose, renew their spirit, and build meaningful connections. These experiences, rooted in ministry and community, have shaped who I am and continue to fuel my passion for uplifting others.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field is being a woman of color in leadership. While there are still obstacles to overcome, there is a growing movement that embraces and uplifts diverse voices, and I’m proud to contribute to that through my role on the board of She Climb and involvement in its coaching program. I also find purpose in planning and designing small, meaningful events that foster community and connection, as well as participating in church conferences that deepen my spiritual and professional growth. Reading and continued learning keep me grounded, inspired, and equipped to lead with both authenticity and impact.
