What do you attribute your success to?
I think just being fully committed, showing up every day with a spirit of excellence, always wanting to achieve more than I brought to the table. Building strong relationships has been key - I've built really great relationships over the span of my career, and that has been something that has followed me throughout my journey, whether it's internal or external. And just, again, just having that spirit of excellence in everything that I do.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the best pieces of career advice I've received is really understanding what keeps your business going, what keeps you up at night. That advice really reframes your mindset of thinking about your current opportunity that you're working on. Another point of good advice that I've received is that leaders always eat last. So, meaning, you know, you may have to put yourself in a back seat for a bit as you prioritize the business priorities and other priorities to achieve a longer-term goal.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I would have for women in my industry is to take your time and understand the business that you're currently in before you want to start another role or step in the business. Don't be in such a rush to do more if you have not fully grounded yourself in your existing business.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think outside challenges, such as inflation, you know, how it affects cost, how it affects demand of business. Being able to be agile and adjust to those external factors are some of the many things that affect the industry that we're in. The pressures of meeting timelines and deadlines, you know, product launches, or whatever that initiative is at that time. External factors such as inflationary costs, recent tariffs, or things that can affect our transportation industry, or our product production industry, or our distribution industry - anything that has an external effect on those areas could affect the day-to-day operations of what we do with our business from a delivery, transportation, or selling initiative. It could be challenging.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being authentic, being 100% authentic, being true to yourself, always staying true to yourself. Being honest. Having a very strong integrity mindset about how you do business, and building strong foundational relationships, having those very integral relationships where it is cohesive and just honest and forthcoming.
