Kathy A. Adams, MBA
I built my career in the room where decisions get made, and I noticed something that never sat right with me.
Administrative professionals are often treated like support, but they operate like strategy. That belief shapes everything I build.
I created Your #1 Admin Advocate because I know what happens when talented admins are given the right tools, the right language, and the right visibility. They stop waiting to be recognized and start leading with confidence, presence, and influence.
My work helps executive and senior-level administrative professionals shift from task-doing to decision-driving. Not by doing more, but by thinking differently, communicating with clarity, and building networks that create real career mobility.

What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from a willingness to see what others overlook and to build what doesn’t yet exist. I have always believed that talent deserves visibility, not just opportunity. I combined lived experience, discipline, and a deep commitment to service with the courage to challenge outdated narratives. Most importantly, I listened to the people I was called to serve and built solutions around their real needs, not assumptions.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Stop waiting to be chosen. Start positioning yourself as the answer. That advice changed how I showed up, communicated my value, and built relationships. It taught me that visibility, clarity, and confidence are skills, not personality traits.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Learn the business, not just the role. Build relationships early and intentionally. Speak up before you feel “ready,” because readiness comes from action. And never shrink your ambition to make others comfortable. Your perspective is an asset, not a liability.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is outdated perception. Administrative professionals are still underestimated despite their proximity to decision-making and operations.
The greatest opportunity is repositioning. When organizations invest in administrative leadership, executive partnership, and visibility, they unlock stronger execution, better decision-making, and more inclusive leadership pipelines.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, purpose, and service. I value clarity in communication, accountability in leadership, and relationships built on trust. I believe success should create access for others, not just achievement for oneself. Alignment between values and action matters to me in every space I occupy.
