Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to showing compassion no matter the circumstances. My consistent effort to learn and support others has been central to my growth.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You can love work and still need strong boundaries. Empathy without boundaries turns into compassion fatigue. Boundaries are part of the care.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Use your influence to change the conditions of the work, not just to succeed within them. It’s not enough to be a great clinician, supervisor, or leader if the system still burns out the people coming up behind you. Influence is about widening the path, not just standing at the top of it.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There aren’t enough counselors, therapists, and behavioral health professionals to meet demand. Large numbers of Americans live in federally designated “mental health professional shortage areas,” and demand is growing much faster than supply.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Compassion, dedication, and never giving up are core to how I approach my work and personal life. I also value family, community, and fostering meaningful relationships.
