Rebuilding Strength: One Woman's Journey from Divorce to Empowering Others

  When Women Rise Together

There is a quiet strength that emerges when women choose to support one another—especially during life’s most difficult chapters. I have witnessed it, lived it, and now dedicate my life’s work to fostering it.

I did not begin my professional career until the age of 55, ten years after my own divorce. After 25 years of marriage, my relationship ended due to infidelity. Like so many women facing a “grey divorce,” I found myself navigating emotional devastation, financial uncertainty, and a profound identity shift—at a stage of life when I believed stability was supposed to be guaranteed.

At the time, I did what many women do: I relied solely on legal guidance, believing that was the only path forward. Looking back, I now understand how costly that approach was—emotionally, financially, and personally. I didn’t know what I didn’t know. And I didn’t realize how much support I truly needed.

That experience became the catalyst for my reinvention.

In 2020, I began rebuilding—intentionally and courageously. I pursued coaching certifications, became an author, launched a coaching practice, created a podcast, and stepped into speaking. Today, I am a Divorce and Life Reinvention Coach for women over 40, specializing in grey divorce. I work with women who are facing one of the most overwhelming transitions of their lives and help them move forward with clarity, confidence, and support.

What I have learned—both personally and professionally—is this: women do not need to walk through difficult seasons alone.

Divorce, grief, reinvention, career pivots, caregiving, health challenges—these moments can isolate us if we allow them to. But when women connect, share experiences, and offer guidance without judgment, transformation becomes possible. Healing accelerates. Confidence returns. And new possibilities begin to take shape.

Just as important as supporting one another through hardship is celebrating each other’s wins. Too often, women minimize their accomplishments or hesitate to shine for fear of appearing boastful. But celebration is not competition—it is inspiration. One woman’s courage gives another permission to believe in herself. One woman’s success lights the path for others.

As I turned 60 this year, I found myself reflecting deeply on this season of my life. I am more fulfilled, more aligned, and more purpose-driven than ever before—not despite my challenges, but because I chose to learn from them and share what I’ve learned with others.

Groups like Influential Women matter because they create space for connection, collaboration, and collective strength. They remind us that our stories—whether marked by struggle, success, or both—have value. And when we share them, we give other women permission to rise.

My mission is simple but powerful: to help women change the narrative of divorce and life transitions and to remind them that new beginnings are possible at any age.

When women support women, we don’t just survive—we thrive. And together, we become unstoppable.
